Recording Shows - PCs

To record your shows you will need the following things:

1. A computer (don’t use the one in the station, I doubt it could handle this)
2. A connection to the internet
3. One of the two programs I will discuss here

For those of you with PCs running Windows:

1. Go to http://freecorder.com/freecorder3/ and download the Freecorder Toolbar and install it on your computer.

2. In the installation process, it will ask you which internet browser you want to install it on, select the one that you use.

3. Once you are finished installing it, open up your Internet browser and you should see the toolbar. (If you don’t want to look at it all the time, you can easily hide it by going to View > Tools > Freecorder Toolbar, and deselecting it.)

4. To record WGTB, in the toolbar, click on the player area on the right of the toolbar (it’s blue and has Play and Stop buttons), a menu will show up, and you should select “Add Stations.”

5. In the window that comes up, click on “Define your own station.”

6. In the new window, you will have to put in the URL of the WGTB stream. This is the url: http://georgetownradio.serverroom.us:6860/listen.pls
Copy and paste it into the field for the URL. Name the stream whatever you want, and in the drop down menu, choose Real Player for Stream Type.

7.The station will show up in the “Manage Your Stations,” make sure it is highlighted and click Ok. After you have set all this up, the Georgetown stream should show up under the original drop down menu in step 4.

8.Now click on Settings to type in a file name and the folder that you want the file to be in. Then click Close.

9.Now you are ready to go, click Record.
